Rye’sAbove 2024: A Transformational Public Art Project

Rye’sAbove is a public art project and fundraiser led by The Rotary Club of Rye and The Rye Arts Center. The goal is to uplift the community through the arts while supporting educational programs in the region. We’ve invited artists to join us in building a cocoon of beauty and creativity that can be the catalyst for metamorphosis in our community.

Rye’sAbove features large and medium-sized aluminum butterflies, as well as small steel butterflies. Participating artists transformed blank, aluminum alloy (the medium and large) or steel (the small) sculptures into original works of art. The butterflies were displayed throughout the summer in the Rye, NY area and were available for purchase at an auction in September.

Supporting Education and Scholarships

Net proceeds from the auction and sponsorships for Rye’sAbove will be dedicated to supporting educational programs and scholarships for students in the local area. The project aims to foster artistic expression and contribute to the growth and development of the community's cultural landscape.
