Kevin Veal was born and raised in Mount Vernon, New York. Known by my closest friends as MC. The nickname MC represents my hip-hop influence which is sometimes transcended into my drawings. Attending Mount Vernon High School where I was put into an advanced art course. That's when I learned most of the basic techniques of pencil art. From that moment on I took my craft seriously and decided to pursue a career in art as a realistic pencil artist

After high school, I went on to Bronx Community College, where I majored in graphic design. In my spare time, I began to establish clientele by drawing faces for people whom I came in contact with, which I still do to this day.

My inspiration for me to draw is the feeling of knowing I have the gift to turn a slink piece of paper into beautiful art. Also, I saw other artists before me who became successful in drawing and being who they are

In closing, my drawings are to inspire people to feel good about themselves. In designing each piece requires close attention to detail and heart-felt emotions in which I do not place a time limit on. I work on each piece as if it's my last, dedicating my heart, mind, body, and soul to each creation

Featured Work:

Mother Of Pearls (Date) | Oil | 6,500

I was deeply motivated to create this piece because of the way society depict darker skinned women as not being more attractive than lighter skinned women. This is my answer to those Societal standards of beauty. To show beauty comes in all colors, shapes, sizes and forms. Whether it’s conventional or unconventional. She’s the mother of civilization, a rare Gem and Jewel thats precious as pearls.

Visual Ecstasy (2022) | Oil | $1,500

Visual Ecstasy is a monochromatic piece that I created to visualize my idea of ecstasy being it’s a mental euphoric feeling. Also I strive to be different and creative in my process. So to achieve that, I put in the circle of bubbles to give that unique look. I got inspired to paint this piece by skimming through a magazine and came across Taraji P. Henson in a relaxing meditative expression pose that showed on her face.  So, I wanted to capture that euphoric energy to share my idea of how ecstasy would look if one can see it. For creativity's sake, I made it monochromatic blue, being that’s my favorite color.
