Gallery B

Gallery B was created by Jill Parry to host a series of “mini-shows” as part of the greater gallery at the RAC. These shows serve as a platform for emerging and mid-career visual artists — to further and promote their professional development by presenting their work at The Rye Arts Center.

On View

This summer, Gallery B turns inward to look outward—revisiting its own creative lineage with Summer Retrospective: The Artwork of Gallery B Artists. This sweeping group exhibition brings together the artists who have helped shape the gallery’s evolving identity over the years. Their works form not just a record, but a living dialogue—a narrative of return, not in repetition, but in resonance.

Each piece on view traces a personal and collective journey—across mediums, disciplines, and time. Together, they reflect the power of a sustained artistic ecosystem: one that nurtures talent, fosters growth, and amplifies local voices. This retrospective is as much about what has been as it is about what’s becoming. It’s a richly textured portrait of momentum—artists in motion, reflecting on where they’ve been while forging ahead with intention.

Our Curator

Jill Parry

Jill is a Welsh-born artist, educator, and curator with a rich international background. She studied at Birmingham College of Art and the Slade School of Fine Arts in London, later teaching textile design in Papua New Guinea and running a silk studio in London before relocating to the U.S.

She has worked extensively as a teaching artist with ArtsWestchester and was honored with their “50 for 50” award for her contributions to the arts. At The Rye Arts Center, Jill has taught, curated major exhibitions, and launched Gallery B—a space dedicated to showcasing and supporting regional artists.

Her artwork, rooted in textile and fiber traditions, has evolved into bold, abstract paintings known for their texture and narrative depth. Her recent work is featured in galleries, museums, and public spaces.

A pop-up exhibition of her paintings will be held at The Rye Arts Center in May to celebrate her 2025 Visionary Artist Award.
