Gallery B
Gallery B was created by Jill Parry to host a series of “mini-shows” as part of the greater gallery at the RAC. These shows serve as a platform for emerging and mid-career visual artists — to further and promote their professional development by presenting their work at The Rye Arts Center.
On View
Rose Marie James: Stamen On The Loose
| July 28–Sept 29, 2025
Rose Marie James paints with a sense of wonder and abandon, yet her work is rooted in a deep reverence for structure. A classically trained botanical illustrator turned expressive oil painter, James invites viewers into a world where plant forms dissolve into color, gesture, and surprise. Her palette knife becomes both scalpel and symphony conductor—cutting through reality, layering memory, teasing beauty from abstraction.

Jill Parry
Jill Parry is a Welsh-born artist, educator, and curator with a rich international background. She studied at Birmingham College of Art and the Slade School of Fine Arts in London, later teaching textile design in Papua New Guinea and running a silk studio in London before relocating to the U.S.
She has worked extensively as a teaching artist with ArtsWestchester and was honored with their “50 for 50” award for her contributions to the arts. At The Rye Arts Center, Jill has taught, curated major exhibitions, and launched Gallery B—a space dedicated to showcasing and supporting regional artists.
Her artwork, rooted in textile and fiber traditions, has evolved into bold, abstract paintings known for their texture and narrative depth. Her recent work is featured in galleries, museums, and public spaces.
A pop-up exhibition of her paintings will be held at The Rye Arts Center in May to celebrate her 2025 Visionary Artist Award.
