Some Like It Hot: Works In Encaustic

Sat., January 13 - Sat., February 17
Reception: Saturday, January 20
5:00 - 7:00 pm

Encaustic painting dates as far back as the 5th century B.C. The process involves heating a mixture of beeswax, resin, and pigments, which are applied while hot to a rigid surface such as a wood panel, and further manipulated. Curated by Katharine Dufault, Some Like It Hot will introduce the community to a brief history of the medium, and show the wide variety of techniques possible using hot wax.
