Digital Animation using Flash CS3 with David Dunn

In this class, students will learn to create, draw and manipulate basic graphics and shapes develop various forms of animation such as frame-by-frame (traditional) and tweened use Flash efficiently to develop various animations and tell stories and publish a Flash movie. Also, advanced users will be able to create small functioning websites. Come and explore your creativity with this exciting digital medium!

Web Design with David Dunn

Have you ever wanted to have your very own website, but didn’t know where to begin? In this class, you will be taken through every step - from registering a domain name through the launch of your very own website! Using Dreamweaver CS3 and Flash CS3, you will create your website from the ground up. All levels invited! Registration and domain hosting fees apply.

Exploring Digital Photography
Ages 8 & up

Young children truly have an eye for art! In this class, they will learn to begin to see the world through the camera’s eye, picking out interesting facets of life and recording them in the medium of digital photography. Students will learn the many elements of photography: composition, lighting, and more. No matter what skill level your child is, they will benefit from this class.

The Digital Canvas: Working with Photoshop with David Dunn
Ages 10 & up
Tuesdays, 5:30 – 6:30pm

Using our computers and Photoshop CS3/Elements 6.0, students learn practical and creative image making. Whether you have photos that you would like to retouch, or works of digital art you wish to create, this class will allow you to explore your “digital canvas.” All tools will be discussed. Learn this important 21st Century skill!

Digital Film Making 101 with David Dunn

Do you own an Apple laptop and want to unlock the power of your iLife software? Have you ever wanted to write and direct a short film of your own? We will be learning the basics of film making, screenplay writing, the importance of storyboarding, camera basics, lighting, editing, composing a soundtrack and authoring your masterpiece to DVD. Students will also watch and analyze short films every week. We will be using Apple’s iLife suite: iMovie, Garageband and iDVD.

Using Indesign and Illustrator CS3, you will learn the basics of design and layout using some of the most sophisticated programs available. Topics covered in this class include composition, image effects, creating a clear and concise layout, and the best way to convey your ideas through design.

This is a dynamic and flexible course individually designed for the interests and ideas of the student. Whether you are a digital dynamo or a film fiend, you will be encouraged and motivated to push your ideas and image making to the next level. Every week, new contemporary photographers will be introduced, and new image making skills will be enhanced. Your work takes full frame with constructive critiques and emerging as exhibition-ready. We will work primarily outdoors and in the computer lab, making use of Adobe Photoshop CS3. We will also use the flatbed scanner and our lab projector to bring your thought-making process to new dimension.

Getting the Most Out of Your Digital Camera with David Dunn

If you have a new digital camera or are confused about how to use one, this is the class for you. We will cover all those buttons and menus and learn which are essential, and what all those little symbols mean. Also covered will be how to download your photos to the computer and how to email them to friends and family. Beginner through experienced photographers welcome. Class size is limited to 6 students so everybody gets lots of individual attention.

Photoshop: Beyond the Basics with David Dunn

This class will teach you how to improve photo faults and gain and understanding of the many tools Photoshop has to offer. Students of all levels are invited to attend, and will be given projects based on their level of knowledge. In addition, we will also cover basics such as how to download photos to the computer and how to email them to friends and family. Basic HTML will be covered for those who want to go the “old fashioned” route, but you will quickly find that the tools that are available (for free) are much more user-friendly, easier to update, and can easily give you an unique and professional looking spot on the web!
