In this small group class, the young student and adult will explore the keyboard and acquire a general understanding of reading music. Keyboards will be provided during class.

Introduction to the Piano I – Ages 6-8
Thursdays: 4:00 - 4:45 pm

This class is designed to give the primary grade level student an exploration of the keyboard and a general understanding of reading music. A great introduction to private lessons.
Keyboards will be provided during class.

This class is an extension of Introduction to the Piano I.The class will continue to expand their knowledge of the piano and increase their general understanding of reading music.

A Cappella with Daniele Hager-Adults
Fridays: 11:00 -12:00 pm

The Rye Arts Center is happy to introduce its new Adult A Cappella group. Come join us and explore classical and contemporary a cappella music with the SATB adult ensemble in this 4-month period! This series of classes/rehearsals (possibly leading to a public performance! ) will teach you the fundamental skills of a cappella singing. We will explore the recent developments of A Cappella music, the elements of blending in close harmony and basic staging and song presentation.

Introduction to the Recorder –Ages 5-7
February 15-19 Mid-Winter Recess

This class is designed to introduce the young student to learning about the recorder and producing a sound on a wind instrument. Recorders provided.

Rockin’ Recorders – Ages 8-10
February 15-19 Mid-Winter Recess
12:30 - 1:15 pm
This class is designed for those students who have a basic knowledge of the recorder and wish to continuing playing in a group setting. We will work on learning simple arrangements of Beatle tunes with a little mini-showcase at the end of the week. Students must provide recorders.
